Day To Day

Tunbridge Wells Care Centre has a dedicated team of Activities Co-ordinators, and they provide a wide range of daily therapeutic and leisure activities such as:

• games
• reminiscence workshops
• gentle exercise
• activities in the garden,
• paper crafts and origami
• visiting animals
• cooking.

All residents who have a special interest or hobby are encouraged and, if practicable, facilitated to enable them to continue. All the activities provided have an underlying ethos of physical exercise, cognitive stimulation, social interaction but also provide fun and make for enjoyable past times!

We regularly provide special entertainment from external sources such as

• musicians for easy listening or sing-a-longs
•  the animal petting zoo
• our famous pantomine!

When weather permits we take advantage of the garden for get togethers, summer garden parties and barbeques. We also organise outings to shows and attractions and encourage families to join us.

We also have a wonderful relationship with a local school and pupils have joined and delighted residents with sharing stories, reading, craft work and singing for us.

Our Activities Co-ordinators also spend time with residents on an individual basis reading newspapers to them and helping with their post.

In addition, there is in room entertainment - rooms have flat screen TV's/DVD players with a choice of over 100 channels and radio stations for residents' comfort and convenience. Residents can choose a movie from library of classic films and musicals.

Each month the social calendar is displayed showing the planned activities available.
