Wow what a Team and what a cheerful house to walk into despite the adversities some of the residents were suffering!

Fun ways to maintaining fitness

In 2011, Activity Co-ordinators at Tunbridge Wells Care Centre, Kent, secured funding for structured exercise classes for residents. The classes were taken by a trainer qualified in passive stretching and postural exercise and proved a great success.

Following this highly positive feedback during the funded sessions, the trainer has now been booked by the centre for 2012 to visit every two weeks.

Canford Healthcare believes exercise is a vital part of everyday life, and each Canford home provides a variety of suitable activities tailored to individuals likes and capabilities.

Activity manager at Tunbridge Wells, Bill Blackford, clearly agrees and builds plenty of opportunities into each week "walks round the garden, carpet bowls and other ball games, ‘parachute’ play, bread making, the list goes on."

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle stimulates the mind and brings a real sense of well being to those taking part. At Tunbridge Wells our exercise antics also bring laughter and social interaction - and when friends and relatives join in, that’s a real bonus!
