Specialist Activities

Our comprehensive activities programme is designed to meet our residents physical,sensory,cognitive,emotional,social needs. In addition to regular entertainment from external sources, outings, film, and therapeutic leisure activities programme we have specialist activities designed specifically to meet the needs of our dementia clients.

Specialist Activities for Dementia include:

• Daily SONAS groups to provide sensory, social and cognitive stimulation. The group session involves stimulating all five senses hearing, sight, touch, taste and smell this creates an environment in which the persons communication is activated.
• A market stall to enable residents to interact with each other and experience everyday activities from their past.

We also ensure one to one interaction with our activity coordinators and carers, in which we are able to focus on the individuals strengths and offer past times that they will enjoy.
